Preachers, Not Politicians, Responsible To Preserve Polite Society

This message was preached by Pastor Chuck Baldwin on Sunday, March 8, 2020, during the service at Liberty Fellowship.

In this message, Pastor Baldwin contrasts the results of America's two Great Awakenings in Colonial America--an approximate time period of 125 years from about 1720 through the mid 1800's--and the results of the last 125 years of church growth in the U.S.

In the last 125 years--especially the last 75+ years--the U.S. has experienced massive church growth: over 300,000 evangelical churches, hundreds of Christian schools and colleges, hundreds of mega-churches, hundreds of Christian television and radio broadcasts, etc.

But unlike in Colonial America when the great spiritual awakenings produced a great thirst for liberty, a great courage to stand against oppression and the establishment of a great Christian society, the church growth of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries have had almost zero influence on the culture as a whole.

In fact, while mega-churches were being formed by the hundreds, American society was (and still is) deteriorating into a godless, secularist/atheist, immoral cesspool. Why? Because for the most part, modern pastors are not willing to preach the salty messages.

He also takes a few minutes to talk about the Coronavirus, and he names the top 10 most sinful states. Amazingly, 7 of those 10 states are in the Bible Belt. Again, showing the lack of godly influence that the modern church has in our country. No doubt, Christian Zionism also contributes to this paradox.
