This message was preached by Pastor Chuck Baldwin on Sunday, June 14, 2020, during the service at Liberty Fellowship.
Scripture Text: Joshua 6 & Judges 4.
Having already given tribute to Jochabed the mother of Moses, Abigail the wife of David and Queen Vashti, in this message, Pastor Baldwin gives tribute to Rahab the harlot and Judge Deborah. Both of these women must be included in the list of great Bible women.
Rahab, a harlot in her past, became a great woman of faith and courage. She also became a grandmother of King David. She is one of only four women included in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 1. She is also included in God's great Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11.
Deborah was commissioned by God as both a prophetess and a judge and deliverer of Israel. She is affectionately known as "Israel's Queen Bee." Though married to another man, she chose Barak to lead the nation of Israel in victory over their Canaanite oppressors. Deborah and Barak are the greatest man and woman political/military team in the Bible. Though only Barak is listed in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11, there was no Barak without Deborah, so certainly God intended to include this dynamic woman in His list of Old Testament luminaries.
Pastor Baldwin also take a few minutes in this message to point out the egregious error of Christian Zionists to use Old Testament wars to justify mass killing and genocide on behalf of the modern State of Israel. He also points out the hypocrisy of Christians denouncing the holocaust in Germany while at the same time excusing, ignoring or even condoning the holocaust in Palestine.
