This message was preached by Pastor Chuck Baldwin on Sunday, November 8, 2020, during the service at Liberty Fellowship.
Scripture Text: Isaiah 2:11 - 22; Psalms.146:3 - 5; 118:9; II Samuel 24:18 - 25
In this message, Pastor Baldwin quotes the historical record to show that America's federalist form of government was constructed on the principle that princes (politicians) could not be trusted. He shows the scriptural warning to not trust in princes (politicians). And he also shows how through the 20th and now 21st centuries, the American people—including Christians—abandoned both the Biblical and constitutional principles that established Freedom in our country.
He also points out the divine mandate that public leaders be genuine men and women of true humility—and God's promise to judge a nation that exalts proud, haughty, arrogant leaders.
But pride and arrogance largely define both the practice and philosophy of the evangelical church today.
As with all of Pastor Baldwin's messages, this sermon is instructive, powerful and very timely.
